11/15 A great stay! Review by Kari Maxwell - Edmond, OK
My husband and I stayed here for a short weekend getaway. The cabin is very nicely kept, clean, and it's location is so peaceful and beautiful. We had a lovely view of the river from our doorstep, and the amenities -- from the river-view deck to the jacuzzi tub -- helped contribute to a relaxing weekend, which is just what we wanted. The staff was also quite helpful, and they made sure to provide us with directions to the cabin, local attractions, and any other information we might need ahead of time. We had a very nice stay, and we would highly recommend this cabin!

10/15 15th Anniversary Romantic Retreat Indeed Review by Justin & Cecilia Gonzales - Baytown, TX
Every year for our Anniversary we try to do something different. This year my husband decided that he would surprise me with a special week long trip to an unknown destination. I was very surprised and a little worried I must admit when we turned down that "semi-paved road" at where we were headed (after all the hubby planned this trip alone...lol). When we reached the gate I was even more anxious to see what awaited us. Once we pulled up to the cabin and walked in I was impressed at what I saw. The cabin and it's surrounding were absolutely beautiful. The "Romantic Retreat Cabin" was exactly that Romantic!! The owner did fail to tell the housekeeping staff about our reservation and that we would be arriving Sunday so the room although very clean had no linens when we arrived but as soon as they saw us parked they came over to see if we needed help with anything and tended to us quickly. They were very friendly and very apologetic about the miss communication. I loved that we were right at the rivers edge and enjoyed the late night fires while listening to mother nature at it's finest. Waking up to such a beautiful view without even having to get out of bed was even more lovely. We however didn't have a canoe available during our stay so I will definitely look forward to that when we visit again. We thoroughly enjoyed having the place all to ourselves as there were no other visitors there while we were. We did wish that the cabin was equipped with Wi-Fi so that we could look up other things to tour in the area as we had no phone service (which was nice and didn't mind) but Wi-Fi just for looking things up would have been helpful. Not only do we plan on having another Romantic Retreat in the future we are also planning on visiting one of the larger cabins for a family vacation complete with kids in tow :)
10/15 We will be back Review by Jamie - North Richarland Hills, TX
This cabin is fantastic! It was a great setting to get out of the craziness of everyday life and just relax. My husband and I really enjoyed spending some nice quiet time canoeing down the river and talking by the fire. We will definitely be back!!!
8/15 Perfect Getaway in a Beautiful Setting Review by Mindy Thomas - Mansfield, TX
A perfect balance of nature and comfort! Very well appointed (and visually appealing) cabin. Loved the deck on the river and the canoe to explore it. A great place to get away from it all but close enough to replenish food or go to Beaver's Bend State Park. The cabin description is on point; we loved it!
8/15 Anniversary Review by Marty and Barbara - Lewisville, TX
We loved the cabin and are planning to go back next year. The view of the lake was amazing. The cabin was beautiful. We are wanting to ask family to go with us next year.
8/15 Can't wait to return! Review by April Claxton - Ardmore, OK
We stayed at the Romantic Retreat in July and it was one of the BEST weekend trips we have ever had! The cabin is AMAZING, the pics do not do it justice! There was much more room than anticipated and the decor and accommodations were terrific. And the people that let us in couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. We were literally right on the Glover River and the water was clear, warm and beautiful. Also, we were only about 10 min. from Broken Bow and about 15 from Hochatown. We did learn that 2 nights isn't enough and we look forward to returning before the year is over.
6/15 Very peaceful Review by Carla Garner - Irving, TX
My husband and I tool a short vacation and spent 3 days here. Would have loved to stayed longer. We fished and sat out on the deck and drank coffee listened to nature, watched the lightning bugs (which i haven't seen in years) and deer, horses, rabbits. The wildlife is awesome. It was so peaceful. The cabin is about 10-15 min off the main hwy so it is a little drive but once you get to the hwy its only about 10 miles to town. The cabin is exactly as pictured. Ready to go back!!
3/15 We really enjoyed our stay! Review by Billy & Kari Perkins - Honey Grove, TX

It was a little cool this time so we plan on going back when it warms up. Anyone wanting to get a away this is the place to be for a quite and relaxing time.
12/14 A Pleasure as always Review by Cathy Page - Longview, TX
We had another wonderful weekend at River's Bend. My husband and I stayed in the romantic retreat and it was just that! We have stayed in several houses on the property and they are all beautiful and comfortable. We cannot imagine staying anywhere else when we come to Beaver's Bend! Thanks for you attention to detail and for taking such good care of us!
Anniversary Getaway! Review by The Grahams - Pollok, TX
Our recent visit to The Romantic Retreat in celebration of our 11th wedding anniversary was wonderful! The cabin was very nice, cozy and has everything you could possibly need during your visit. The view was spectacular! We made good use of the canoe and enjoyed the fishing; caught bass and perch. The leaves were beginning to change and were absolutely beautiful along the river. We brought all of the food we would need for our stay, as you will not want to leave when you get there! The directions provided are excellent; we had no trouble finding it. We can't wait to visit again with our family...thanks for sharing this wonderful cabin on the river!

My girlfriend and I wanted to get out of the city for labor day weekend and the Romantic Retreat was just what we needed. We loved the cabin and everything it had to offer. The pictures do not do it justice. It is a fantastic stay and everyone I spoke with at Vacation Broken Bow Lake was more than accommodating. I will definitely be returning for a city getaway again.

My husband Tony & I loved everything about the Romantic Retreat! We went there for a quiet getaway and also to celebrate our 8th Wedding Anniversary... and we didn't want to leave!! Everything was beautiful.. the cabin and the scenery! We had a great time canoeing the Glover River and with the most fun fishing! We can't wait to go back! Next time, we plan on bringing all of our supplies so we don't have to go in to town for anything and that way we can spend every minute right there!

6/14 Beautiful Review by Holly McGuire - Velma, OK
My husband and I stayed for our anniversary and had an amazing time. The cabin has all the comforts of home and the water access is great and makes for a beautiful view while drinking your morning coffee. We are already planning a trip back with the kids.
3/14 30th Anniversary Review by Wendy Andrews - Fairfield, TX
My husband, Bill, and I decided to spend our 30th wedding anniversary here. Broken Bow was our family's first choice for vacation as the kids were growing up. They loved it and so did we. This was our first time staying on the Glover river and we thoroughly enjoyed it. This cabin was so perfect for our "little romantic retreat"!!! Having a canoe at your disposal was perfect for us. We will be returning at least once a year (probably more) just to get away and relax. Thank you for offering such beautiful places to get away to. You were wonderful to work with!!!
3/14 Relaxing Experience Review by Fredi Duncan - OKC, OK
The cabin is cozy and warm. We enjoyed the relaxing views and quiet time away from our kids. We recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet retreat with a full kitchen to cook meals and enjoy a nice fire in the evenings.
2/14 It was a great stay Review by Lyndsee - Plano, TX
My husband, my little one and I stayed in this cabin for two nights over the weekend and we really enjoyed ourselves. It was stocked with everything we needed for our stay which is good, because we don't "rough it" very well. We brought food for most of our meals, and I was delighted to find that they thought of stuff that we missed like seasoning and cooking spray and even a wine bottle opener! They also provided towels, soap, blankets, pillows - pretty much everything a hotel room would have, and the bathtub is superb (just realize that the light switch has to be up in order for the jets to work). The bed was comfy and you couldn't get a better view of the Glover River. It was right there when you went out on the (large) front porch.
I would also recommend Riverman Trails, which is super close and offers trail rides through the hills and creeks around the cabin, if you have the inclination. If you have a truck or suv - bring it. The gravel road that leads to the cabin area is long and bumpy. We have a sedan and it was an interesting ride for sure.
Overall amazing stay and we can't wait to do it again!
11/13 Weekend Getaway Review by Richardsons - Cedar Hill, TX
First time making this trip and we had a very relaxing time. The getaway included my wife and I. The cabin isn't too far from town which makes it easy to pick up any last minute items. The cabin was the perfect size for us, we were able to relax and enjoyed our stay. We locked our keys in the cabin and within 10 minutes someone was there to let us in. The pictures of the cabin do not do it justice, it actually looks better in person. Our time here was so enjoyable that we have cancelled our annual Spring Break cruise with the kids and will be booking a larger cabin here instead.
